Surprises!

I can't remember the last time I did any school work at home. It must have been years ago. Today, I have 2 essays and one graph to finish. Unfortunately, I do not have enough time during History to complete the task tomorrow. Alas, I'm left with no choice but to put my brain through a workout at home. The first essay is done (though somewhat unenthusiastically). The second essay, a memorandum to object the privatization of government hospitals, is for my BM teacher which means the entire thing has to be written in BM.

Herein lies the problem. I think in English, I argue well in English and my best essays are written in English. I need to find a way to write this memorandum with passion in the Malay language. I have my points. What's left is just to write them out nicely but that's a lot easier said than done when it comes to the language. I'm definitely capable of writing an essay in BM, but the quality is what concerns me. My command of the language can probably be classified as 5/10. Only 50% fluent and I'm expected to come up with and essay to rock your world? Yea right! I'm not giving up though. I'll write the best I can and slowly hone my skills of writing in BM. Mr.Y would be proud:) He's always telling me not to worry and that he'll be guiding me one step at a time. Definitely my favourite teacher!

Our MUET teacher set us an essay; Where do I see myself in 5 years? I expected myself to hand in an essay of about 2-3 pages long (as I am wont to do). Alas (again), I have disappointed myself. I completely forgot about it and I had to scratch out something last minute. My syntax was a washout, the whole essay was unorganized and I didn't portray 'me' to full blast. I should have set a reminder on my phone or something. I feel ashamed of myself for not doing it right. ARGH! I shall not do that again.

I've always had Random-Thoughts-Moments where I get, well... random thoughts. So, I have decided to blog them! Just for fun. Since I have a very weak memory, I'm going to have to write them down but even I can't write everything single random thought down (since they're random and I probably won't have any writing things on me). Hopefully, I remember the best ones and you'll enjoy them too. This is me giving you an insight as to how my brain works! No, not all desirable to some but hey, we all need an outlet and this is mine. :)

I have something exciting coming up but it's not confirmed so I wont post it here yet. Once I know for sure what's going to happen, so will you!

Not much. I JUST MISS EVERYONE!!
And I'm still wondering, when....?

Watcha Lookin' At?

Two down, one to go! Yay! I've finished my MUET and PA essays. Only one more BM essay to go before I'm home free to be bored all day long. I guess just sitting here while Ma was working really got me into it. To pass the time, I did my homework. I should do this more often. Ha ha:)

Anyway, now that MUET and PA are completed, I can focus on BM(which I have no idea how to do at all!) and Literature(which I've not started on yet). Literature will be fun so I want to finish BM first. Get the 'gray' out of the way, and then on to the more colourful ones (I mean 'colourful' as in fun for me to read, not 'colouful' as in the poems are lively. The one's I'm supposed to be reading are about 'Death'. Nothing colourful about that!) Anyway, I'm leaving BM for tomorrow and Lit for Thursday.

While I was finishing up my PA essay (Ma went out to the Hospital for a meeting), I heard a tapping sound coming from the sliding door so I went to investigate. Slowly but surely, I crept to the sliding doors and my stomach did a back flip. there was a huge Monitor lizard knocking on the doors (trying to say 'Hi' maybe?). I just stared at it for a while and then grabbed my phone to take some pictures! The thing is, I did not bring my USB cable nor did I bring my memory card reader. Thankfully, I found a memory card reader on Kak Zaleha's desk. So here he(or she) is:

I don't know what species exactly

Long.. Really long!

Whatca lookin' at??

Long claws too
It had yellow spots on its scales near the claws. Quite cool actually. Anyway, while I was uploading the pictures, it ran away. It's probably still out there in the garden!

14 Hour Day

Before I really start, I'd like to mention that today has been a really, really long day. We (ma and I) left the house at 6am and only reached home a little after 8pm.

T.G.I the last day of school!!!!!!! Two weeks off and even though I have homework (3 1/2 essays & 1 objective paper to be exact), I'm stoked! I've got it all planned out and this time, I have a feeling that things will go according to plan. Obviously, I'm going to stay up late today, just to mark the beginning of the holidays :)

Apart from being the last day of school before Raya, today I went to my first ever CSS meeting and English Lit class. I'll start of with CSS. They're a bunch of hyper catholic boys, in love with their religion and so completely stunned that there is a girl in their group. I'm not too sure but I think it's been a while since they've had a girl in CSS. Anyway, being the only girl, my dear mother's predictions came true when they unanimously decided to make me their new Secretary. I'm honoured of course and I'm happy with the way they welcomed me. They were of course shy, as was I, but I can see us all getting along quite well. I'm very excited for all the planning of activities to start. Many of them go to the same church and it's nice to have a little piece of it here in school too. It's like a connection between home life and school which I've never really had. They're good boys and I'm looking forward to the coming year.

On to Literature, of the English nature that is. We had our first official class today in one of the CERiA cabins. I have to say, out of all the classes I've ever attended in my entire life, this was the most exciting (BM ties with it for 1st place, though). We read through and analysed 3 poems by Hardy (just to begin with). It is still an intimidating subject to me but I feel that with the help of our teacher, we'll be able to make it through fairly well. The poems we covered today were the simpler ones and from what I gathered throughout the class, the teacher thinks we'll be able to understand the meanings quite easily. I'm having a great time. So far, the only glitch is in finding a proper venue to meet up. CERiA was fine when the classes were supposed to be on Saturdays but now that it's on a weekday, we'll need to source out another option. The last resort will of course be the teacher's office but I think somewhere else (maybe a park or a quite cafe) would be better and less imposing. She's already spending her time on us so let's try not to take her space as well. She really fun to study with and she's so obviously passionate about Literature that learning isn't so much learning as it is an experience with her.

Once Monday comes, I'm getting into my school mode to make sure I finish my homework as soon as possible. I know I've said that before and it didn't happen but this time, I'm all charged up and in the mood, which I'm sure will last through out the holidays. Right now, I'm in a mode where I can see myself doing all the things I want to do, experiencing and living the life I want to live. I can see those images so clearly in my head that I just know I'll be able to get there. That's why I know I'll be able to finish my homework fast and spend the holidays like I've always wanted too. ::) It's a powerful feeling. A 'sometimes-you-just-know' moment. This is it. I know it is!

LET THE HOLIDAYS BEGIN!!!!

Fever!

Homework Status:

Pengajian Perniagaan: Done but not perfectly
PA graph: Not done (don't know how to create the graph because the values are too big)
PA newspaper articles: Still in progress. 1/3 done, 2/3 to go
PA 1 reading: Not even started
MUET essay: unfinished

I'm working on it and I hope to finish before next Wednesday. I want to have at least a few days to really be on holiday, with no homework to worry about.

Moving on, Daisy's back in Friday's! She such a bubbly character and now that she's back, I realised how boring we were in her absence. Luckily for us, she's here to stay! We were playing a 'tradisional' game (I don't know if I can call it tradisional since it's just rubber bands, but) called "Tali Bunga". June and I only know how to play up to a certain point, so once we reach that point, we bluff our way through. Daisy taught us how to go further. She also taught us how they usually start the game in Korea. Since it wasn't really busy, boss didn't say anything. It was so much fun. Daisy also taught us how to make stars and double stars using a single rubber band. June took some time but she managed a really nice one.

:)

Anyway, on the off chance that you (the reader) forgot, today is the first day of the FIFA World Cup 2010 in Africa!! I missed the opening ceremony but that's okay. I'm sure there's going to be about 25 replays of that and every game for the next few weeks. I'll just catch it another time. As for the team I'm supporting, ENGLAND baby! And if I'm allowed to have more than one favourite, I'll be rooting for HOLLAND too. Speaking of teams, it seems to me that everyone is so hyped up about the world cup, even the players, and that has caused the rate of injury to increase dramatically. Since I'm so free with nothing but homework, housework and work to do (notice that all I've mentioned is WORK!), I've made a list of players who are going to miss the world cup this year due to injury:

  1. Rio Ferdinand (England)
  2. Beckham (England)
  3. Nani (Portugal)
  4. Ronaldo (Portugal)
  5. Ballack (Germany)
  6. Mikel (Nigeria)
  7. Drogba (Ivory Coast)
  8. Robben (Netherlands)
  9. Pirlo (Italy)
  10. Kewel (Australia)
  11. Brown (New Zealand)
  12. Suazo (Chile)
As you can see, not only did the not-so-famous players get injured, but so did the famous, well-known names of football as well. Oh well, maybe it's God's way of evening the playing field a little, give other teams a slight chance as well. In any case,

HAPPY WORLD CUP DAY EVERYONE!!

Pot Luck-ing!

I went to CERiA with ma today! We celebrated Aunty Margaret's and Kak Zaleha's birthday. It was so much fun. We had a pot luck with food from different continents, party hats and even overly-pink mouse ears for the birthday girls to wear. I took some pictures with the camera (which was also shockingly pink! *bluek*)
Birthday girls!
pot luck-ing :P
too much pink but it was still fun :)
..mama mouse & kathy mouse..
Anyway, it's now Tuesday, the 4th day of my 2-week school holiday, and I can proudly say that I'm done with all my notes! Also, I have done all the structured questions and one essay for PP. Hopefully, I'll keep this up and finish all the questions by this week. Only one more essay each for PP and MUET. After that... no, it's not a home run. I still have alot of reading to do, but at least it'll be a load off.
Good luck to me!!

My oh My!

*I was looking forward to the holidays.. WAS being the operative word!
TONS OF HOMEWORK! That's what I get for my first school holiday this year. Pages of notes for Business Studies and Accounts, a stagerring number of structured and essay questions for Business Studies, Accounts and MUET, and not to mention 13 topics to read up on for PA!

HELLO!!~~ It's the holidays. According to the dictionary, it means "to take a break from work and relax". I think 'teachers' in general forgot the meaning of that word.

Anyway, I'm going to have to pace myself. I'll do the reading part everyday, notes I'll have to finish by Monday so that I can start the questions on Tuesday. I'm aiming to complete my work within the first week, except the reading of course. That I'll have to spread out over the course of two weeks. Hopefully, I'll stick to this plan or else I'll go totally haywire. Time to shape up Cat!
