So mama and I went to the Upstairs Cafe just now. It's a really cool place. It's like a combination of Starbucks and Baci Cafe (in Citta Mall); jazz music, delectable desserts and a calm atmosphere. It's not at all dim like Starbucks but not as bright as Baci either. It's a good balance. The prices are quite reasonable as well.
I've actually seen it before and always wanted to go in but never did on account of it being upstairs (duh!). But a couple of weeks ago, mama and I saw 2 of the guys from the cafe (they were wearing chef jackets with the cafe name on it) in PJ looking for plates. They were smoking hot (you can blame Peter for my sudden increase in expressing my thoughts about hot guys). Add to that the fact that HELP has trained me to climb a few flights of stairs each day & there I was!
I really like it there. The coffee doesn't come close to beating Baci but the food and atmosphere makes up for it. I felt really indie, free and calm while I was there. I also felt a sudden urge to express my creativity! :) Of course, it also helps that the guys who work there are super nice, friendly and oh so good looking.
I'm definitely going back there again.
On another note, I cut my hair! It's feels goooood!
On a sadder note though, my laptop (which I've christened Benji) needs to stay at the doctor's for another week. I really want him back :(
AND, if you're interested, I've updated my Bucket List:)

Proud Moment in a Silly Hat
I made a cake! :) Not just an ordinary cake. I made Aunty Clara's Almond Butter Cake. Apparently, the GM really likes it. He asked me to make a small one so they could try.
Since I couldn't find any almonds, I use hazelnuts instead. So it became the hazelnut butter cake. Also, I didn't make regular butter cream icing. I made a chocolate butter cream. The whole thing turned out good. I think it was a little too sweet but everyone else thought it was ok. The hazelnut and chocolate icing goes very well together.
Anyway, since the small cake was ok, GM asked me to make a big one. Something they could sell. So I did. I made a bigger cake (almost the size of our cheese cake). I covered it with chocolate butter cream and sprinkled hazelnut on top. It looks quite nice! I feel so bangga!
One thing I've realised, though, is that I don't really like butter cream icing. I think maybe it;s because I had quite a lot of it a while ago. I used to eat the icing while making cakes. I'm fed up of it. Good for me, I guess. Less sugar.
More on food. The ayam goreng kunyit at Kafe An-Nurs is killer! I'm slowly trying out all their chicken dishes and this has to be the best so far. Second would be the ayam masak halia. It has become the place I haunt during breaks. I like it there. :)
I think I'm getting used to work. I feel more comfortable there. I know almost everyones name and I know what I need to do without being told. Of course, I still need some sort of assistance at times but all in all, I'm good. Except for the hat. I feel really silly wearing a hat at work.

Matters of the Tummy
So, the holidays are almost upon us. Only 2 weeks, sure, but definitely worth it! The exams have been a little stressful (for others more than me) and I think all of us, teachers included, are in need of a good, long break.
Speaking of the holidays. I've never been this organised before. I put all my plans into my phone planner and I realised that I'm definitely fully utilising this holidays. No moping around at home, constantly whining about boredom. My schedule is filling up fast and I'm stoked! I've got some really great stuff lined up like pottery, window shopping, sunway-ing, probably pool and not to mention the camp.
Moving on, I was talking to my father today and he got me thinking about the whole recess situation here in Malaysia. It's appalling. School starts at 7.30am which means students have their breakfast before that, if they have any at all. Then comes recess at 10.30am (or 11am, depending on the age. The younger half 10.30am-10.50am, the older half 10.50am-11am). That's 20 minutes to gobble down whatever horrid food the canteen offers. After that, it's studying time, right up till 1.50pm or 2.30pm (again, depending on the schools). Now, tell me that's not screwed up?
Sure, the government is sticking to the whole four-hours-between-each-meal thing but is this even healthy? Breakfast at the crack of dawn, morning tea (which is usually heavy) at 11am and lunch much later at 2.30pm or sometimes at 3pm+ when the students get home. Isn't breakfast supposed to be around 8am and lunch at around 1pm? It seems to me we're raising a whole generation of children who are prone to gastric. The whole meal system has been turned upside down.
Something should really be done about this. One person alone cannot affect change. We need a whole school or maybe the teachers union to stand up to the government and say "Enough is enough." We cannot continue to let our children be victims to this plan. Change is needed for the betterment of our children's health. Part of the reason children are obese in this country is because we have to wait a good long while for lunch. On top of that, recess is a pitiful 20 minutes. What kind of balanced meal can we eat in 20 minutes, even if the canteens do offer proper food? Students resort to fried foods like nuggets and junk food like various packaged cakes and cookies laden with sugar because we are pressed for time.
So, where do we go from here?

Anyways, my friend directed me (indirectly) to this blog. I really enjoyed reading it so here's the link. Enjoy!

Being Completely Malaysian!
Well, it's been a while since my last blog. There's just been so many things going on that I was too lazy to blog. Even now I'm feeling kind of brain-dead but I need to get these thoughts out of my head no matter what it takes so forgive me if this post isn't as normal as it usually is.
Since it's PMR week, we've been moved to different classes to accommodate the comfort of the PMR students. L6E1 was moved to one of the classes in the canteen block which is nearer to the examination hall (apparently, the teachers trust us to keep silent throughout the day. Yea right!). Honestly, I was so excited! Since my fist day in LaSalle, I was intrigued by the staircase found right in the canteen and even more so of the boys walking straight into the canteen from their classes. Finally, I can experience that for myself. I'm sure you'll be wondering why I'm so excited about such a trivial thing. I'm a huge fan of food and the fact that I have to walk through the canteen to get to my class is just awesome! On top of that, we get the smell of food so early in the day that we space out much sooner that we normally would. These past few days have been great! The class is square and two wall are completely covered with windows. There's so much more light and air coming in. I love it there!
Dinesh, Visha and Mina have been really nice too. I'm glad I decided to move to LaSalle. We (Visha, Dinesh and I) had breakfast today. I was late :P Still on food, Dinesh brought Thai spring rolls today (homemade!). It was delicious. We came up with a food plan for ourselves. Three days each week, we'd bring some food from home. We planned out a schedule and tomorrow, it Visha's turn! I wonder what she'll bring?
Anyway, ma and I went to the flea market in Jaya 33 today. Ma was right, I loved it there! They had this beautiful purple knee-length dress. I bought that for Christmas. Then there was this white long tank top, very comfortable to wear. Another thing I bought was this (rejected) Ralph Lauren shirt-blouse. I just wanted it even when I first saw it. Unfortunately for me, it's a tad too big for my petite body so I gave it to ma. She looks awesome in it. All in all, it was a good day out. (No homework either which was like icing on the cake!)
I've been checking out some of the blogs on "Blogs of Note" and I have to say, they're spectacular. I really like the 'Beta Dad'. Original, to say the least. Anyone who hasn't read it yet, should check it out.
Bringing this back to the topic of clothes. I've re-designed some of my old clothes to my current personal style and needless to say, I'm very excited about the sewing part of it. The only problem is, I have yet to get myself a sewing machine. I can always hand sew everything but it'll last longer and look nicer if I do it with a machine. The thing is, sewing machine's aren't cheap. I'd love to get the traditional kind but they're more expensive than the motorised ones. Hopefully I can get my hand on a good second-hand machine. I just need it for some light sewing, nothing heavy duty so I'll manage with a used one. I want it soon! I'm getting a little bored with my clothes so I need to get this machine to jazz everything up a little bit.
Oh! I'm watching the Commonwealth Games right now! Women's Weightlifting. The Malaysian did very well on her first attempt - 85kg. The commentator was telling us about his interview with the Malaysia Weightlifter, Farhana. He asked her about what she likes to do in her free time and she said, "I hang out with my boyfriend." That's so Malaysian! :)

FunDay, FoodDay, FinalDay(of the week)!
Finally Friday! This week has been keeping me busy. I'm a little behind on homework but hopefully I'll be able to catch up during the weekend. Now that I think about it, I actually have a lot going on, in school, church, BEC, and my personal schedule. I have to make sure I avoid biting off more than I can chew. I'm still sane, thankfully, and I'm actually handling things quite well. Better than I would have a few years ago, anyway.
We had a little origami class in school today. We made birds, hearts and little 'sampan's. Dinesh named his boat 'Ath'ena' (Apparently it's the ship that got wrecked in the beginning of twelfth night) and I named mine 'Petite' (as in, the opposite of Titanic. Also, that's what Visha called me:)). Witty, no? Romina and Visha got a heart each and little birds that actually didn't come out good. Which reminds me, I have some PA homework to finish.

Awesome dinner today.
Anyway, tomorrow, I'm heading off to go see Dillon! His parents want to take him to a photo studio for a photo shoot. I've never done anything like that so I'm quite excited. Most babies cry a lot during photo shoots but Dillon is really easy going (unlike his dad :P), so I think he'll be fine. I am, however, kind of worried that he's forgotten me (which is very possible since I haven't seen him in quite a while). I'm hoping he has a great memory (to remember his long lost sister) or at least a good judge of character (knowing that I love him and just want to spoil him all I can!). I'm so excited to the point where I've already picked out my outfit for tomorrow. Something sweet, comfortable and baby friendly.
I was thinking about getting him a present for his birthday but it seems the cons outweigh the pros. He's growing fast so it'll be a 'No' for clothes. I don't think he can fully enjoy a proper toy, and a card is just tacky (even if he could read). I'll hold off the material spoiling till he's old enough to remember:)
My lids are getting heavier by the minute so see y'all around!

First Exam of Form 6
It wasn't too bad. Pengajian Am was exactly how I thought I would be: mind-numbing-questions and a time limit to really test you speed colouring skills. I only just managed to finish colouring in my graph. There's was one question that I didn't answer though. It was a question I just could not find the answer for. So, I left it.
Then, we had Pengajian Perniagaan. This paper gave my confidence a boost. Section A was easy breezy. Section B was slightly tougher but nothing I wouldn't be able to do if I had really studied. (No, I didn't really study and I know I should have and I will once I find me energy which won't take much longer.I hope). I have a feeling that besides MUET, PP is going to be my best subject. I can't wait to prove it to myself and eveyone else. (Yay! Blood is pumping. I can feel the energy building! Wohoo^^)
Anyway, during the intervals between the two papers and of course the two hours before the first paper, I slept. I think I've actually managed to catch up on all the sleep I've lost over the past two years in just one day (today). I was sleeping so much that my MUET teacher actually asked me if I was feeling okay. She feared I might have been ill. To save her the worry, I explained to her my usual before exam routine. It involves no studying at all for a minumun of 8 hours before the exams. Staying true to this routine, I had no choice but to sleep the time away since I was so bored! *Sigh* So, teacher gave me the 'wow-she's-unbelieveably-wierd' look that I was expecting. Then, I went back to sleep :)
Moving on, ma and I are going to try and make Butter Prawns for dinner tonight. We getting tired of cooking and ending up with food that tastes almost the same each time. Time to shake things up abit. Well, I'm off.

WARNING! Hunger Ahead!
Yesterday, I was hungry. I was thinking about food the whole day. I was so hungry and bored that I began 'decorating' a Friday's tissue.

| I spent the whole day working on this |
So anyway, Ty saved me. She bought me a Cornetto Sundae from McD. HEAVEN! I had it while doing my closing duties. It was delicious! Once I got home, I had dinner. Rice, prawn curry and sausages and eggs. Guess what, I was still hungry. So, today, I had breakfast. Then I had porridge for lunch. Still hungry :( Ty was getting fed-up with my constant whining of hunger. I don't blame her. I was quite annoying. Anyway, once I signed out, ma and I had dinner in Friday's. We had Cranberry Fizz, Chocolate Chip Shake, Queso Fundido, and Short Ribs. Now I can finally say it, I'M STUFFED! Ty would be so glad :) And Emy will be so proud! (my partner in crime when it comes to eating).
Alright. Moving on, my brain has somehow managed to shut down while I'm awake. I have nothing in my mind right now. It's completely blank, dead asleep, unusable. I might as well got to bed now. Chao everyone! Till we meet again! I feel like writing again:)

Top On My List Of Weird Days
Today can definitely be considered as one of the most weirdest day I've had so far. I started my day at 2.30a.m with the FIFA World Cup Finals 2010, Netherlands Vs Spain. I was wearing orange. The match started off quite rough on account of the Dutch and the commentator was serving up his usual amount of snide comments about everything possible, excluding the British referees of course. Even the Japanese referee, who in my opinion is among the best out there, was not spared. The commentator was having the time of his life poking fun at the expense of both teams with meaningless yet discouraging statistics using his terribly irritating voice. He even made a few personal comments like, "The ref is having a little chat with Sneijder there. I don't think Sneijder even understands English,". Well, I'll have you know, anyone can speak English but not everyone can speak Malay. Hah!
Anyway, by the time the game ended, in which Spain won by a goal during extra time that was accepted even though a Spanish player was offside because the BRITISH linesman didn't see it, it was already 5.30a.m. I decided to stay awake because I knew full well that if I let myself drift off, I wouldn't be able to wake up for school a half hour later. All through the ride to school, we were talking about the World Cup and homework (one of those 'weird but it works' combination). Once we arrived in school, we sat around the usual table in the lobby area. All of the sudden, Adeline shouted out loud, "Kath! It's RaRa!". I didn't believe her at first, thinking it was just another one of her jokes, but then again, Adeline has never been able to lie with a straight face. One look, and I saw that she was right. What d'you know!? RaRa was indeed in school. Adeline ran after him with me on her heels. I felt happy and thankful that he managed to find a way back (whether he intended to or not). My prayers were answered :)
All too soon, joy was replaced with annoyance and even a slight twinge of anger. There were two boys trying to claim that RaRa belonged to them. I fixed them with a deadly stare (as deadly a stare as I could muster at that time, at least) and told them he was my dog, daring them to contradict me. They didn't. Adeline and I, then, drove RaRa home and rushed back to school. We managed to make it back before the assembly ended. After that, we made our way back to our own block, slightly away from the main school building. Little did I know, those two boys actually followed me to my class. They insisted that RaRa was theirs and not mine to claim. They jotted down what class I was in and tried their best to spell my name. I think they were trying to show that they meant business. Trying to scare me maybe. They have no idea. Anyway, I helped them out and gave them my full name and telephone number. They can call on me anytime because I have all the proof I need that RaRa is mine. Like ma always said; if you know you're right, then never fear. You know for sure that the gun only shoots blanks even if others insist it's loaded. They wont listen to you so the only way to solve it is to give them the gun and ask them to shoot you. You know it's safe but they don't. So, that's exactly what I did.
What I'm going to say next is going to sound terrible and even illogical, what with all the effort I'm putting in to claim RaRa as mine, but it has to be. I'm going to return RaRa to the person I adopted him from. I realised that I'm not even close to being ready to care for a dog. I don't know if I ever will be. I'm too afraid and witless when it comes to those four-legged fur balls. I love animals, really, but it seems I'm not made to take care of this particular species. I'm going to call his rescuer and fix a time to return him. I just don't know enough.
Moving on to less depressing matters.. well, actually, there's nothing else for now. I'm stuck in a hole. Hm, maybe I'll make some Chili Con Carne. I've always wanted to try and I have all the ingredients. Why not? Hope it turns out good, or edible at least.

Season Of Change
I'm FINALLY off! After 11 days of working without an off, it's good to just sit at home and do nothing. I'm kind of burnt out with working. Now I know why people don't work everyday. It's very tiring to see the same place and do the same thing over and over again for 11 days straight. The day off, a full 24 hours away from work, is just the thing I need to get rejuvenated.
I feel much better about getting back to work tomorrow. It's going to be a challenge with all the new faces. At the same time it'll be fun because even though I've only been working for a month and a half, I have seniority. June and I will have a ball training them. June is a little worried though because she says that she herself isn't very familiar with taking orders. I think she'll be awesome though.
Speaking of new faces, I'm really going to miss alot of the old faces there. Alot of them were nice to me and most of them taught me everything I now about Friday's. I'm going to miss talking to them and joking around. I'm a little attached to all of them in a way. I sincerely hope that they come and visit often. I'd like to see them again some time. Going back to work knowing that they'll be gone is a little upsetting. I do hope the best for them anyway. I'LL MISS YOU ALL!!

I've realised that alot of things are happening this time around. It's the season of change. A new batch of staff is coming to Friday's. I'm 18 now and I feel like I have to be more mature, to live up to my age. Also, things at home are changing. As for now, I can't be sure if it's for the better or worse. Everything is a little rocky now. Sometimes I just wish I could tell someone everything that's on my mind without them telling me what's on theirs. I know it sounds selfish but I just want some one to listen to me, to nod once in a while as I'm rambling. Once I'm done, then you can start. Once I get that of my chest then I don't mind being your sounding board. I just need a sounding borad of my own first.
Anyway, I'm in the mood for cooking. I'll make some cupcakes, and then dinner. GOTTA GO!!

Diner Dash^^
Yesterday night was like diner dash! June and I were running around all over the restaurant, seating guests, taking orders and pre-bussing tables. Amy took charge of the door with Owais to help her. It was FUN! Somehow, when it's so busy like that, taking orders and talking to the guests becomes much easier. That's because I'm constantly thinking that I need to get back to the door so acting all cheery is the fastest and most effiecient way of getting all the orders quickly (I think).
Closing was much fun again. This time I was wearing Faizal's hat. That was fun. Syod(Gun) called me Charlie Chaplin's daughter. He's such a joker (you can't usually tell because his face is almost always unsmiling). Nad was doing closing too and she looked beat.
Anyway, that's all for now because I'M SO HUNGRY!! Hehe :):)
